Symbolon

The Greek word symbolon often described a clay seal that was broken in half and given to two people, serving as a sign of recognition between them. When the two pieces were drawn together and matched up perfectly, it confirmed the relationship of the two people.  Christians described their creed as a symbolon, they meant that it was a sign of Christian identity and communion between all believers.  The creed you recite matches up with the Creed of the early Church, so you can know with confidence that you are sharing in the same faith proclaimed by Jesus and the apostles.

Catholicism is an entire way of life. But today it’s not known.  We might be familiar with different aspects of the Catholic faith; but how does it all fit together? And what difference does it make for our lives? Through beautifully crafted teaching and state-of-the-art video, author, speaker and theologian Dr. Edward Sri leads a team of dynamic teachers who provide a clear and comprehensive explanation of the Catholic faith.

Filmed on location in Rome, the Holy Land, Calcutta and in the Augustine Institute studios in Denver, Symbolon is about a journey of faith, discovery, and friendship with Christ that will make a lasting impression on our lives.

This series will allow you to hear from dozens of nationally-known teachers; such as Johnnette Benkovic, Patrick Coffin, Jason and Crystalina Evert, Tim Gray, Curtis Martin, Edward Sri, Chris Stefanick, Teresa Tomeo, and many others who will unpack the Catholic faith and help each of us to live it more deeply.

Parishioners have the opportunity to participate in Symbolon on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 in the Parish Center, or in your own home by checking out the DVD’s from the Parish Office.
